Cartridge Refilling at Ink World!
Based on US figures, over 1.4 million inkjet cartridges were refilled in the
UK in 2005 with growth estimated to reach over 8 million by 2009. With a new
black Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) inkjet cartridge costing around
£20, both business and personal customers are looking to save money on their
printing costs. At Ink World we take customers used black cartridges and
refill them as new, with superior quality and in many occasions more ink,
for just £8.99 - representing savings of up to 80%. With colour cartridges
being refilled for just £9.99 the savings are enormous.
Environmental Benefits
Consider the environmental benefits too. In 2000, Recycler Magazine
estimated that over 47 million inkjet cartridges end up in landfill sites
each year in the UK. By refilling inkjet cartridges, millions of cartridges
are re-used saving valuable space at landfill sites. It can take up to 1,000
years for an inkjet cartridge to decompose and uses up to 6 pints of oil to
produce one new inkjet cartridge.
The Ink World History
The first Ink World store opened in May 2003 in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. Ink
World launched the Ink World franchise programme at the National Franchise
Exhibition at the NEC in October 2004.
With thirteen stores already trading in the UK & Ireland, more are due to
follow shortly, Ink World gives you the opportunity to build a solid
business in the Inkjet Refilling market.
The Ink World Website
Our popular internet websites at www.ink-world.co.uk and www.inkworld.ie are trading 24 hours a
day, 365 days a year taking orders for inkjet & laser toner cartridges to be
delivered directly to customers addresses or simply for customers to obtain
information before travelling to their local Ink World store, giving our
customers the best of both worlds! As an Ink World franchisee, you profit
from any order placed from within your postcode based territory.
Locations
Based in busy secondary locations, our stores generally trade Monday –
Saturday 9.00-5.00 so there’s no unsociable hours involved. Our stores are
generally around 350 - 500 sq. feet.
The Range
Ink World stocks a wide range of inkjet cartridges within our stores, all
competitively priced compared to mail order stationers and office
supplies/PC superstores. We have two catalogues which can be distributed to
potential and existing customers. We have a 920 page office supplies
catalogue featuring over 17,000 stationery products which is updated each
year. We also have a four page price list which is distributed free from our
stores.
Training
Ink World offers a one-on-one weeks training
package at its training store in Coventry. The training package consists of
full technical and
commercial training, which is then backed up with a further period of
on-site "hand holding" to ensure the franchisee is confident in the
day-to-day running of their retail business. Following this, telephone
support is provided during trading hours and further training days are
available for franchisees and their staff.
Finance
Your Investment...
The total investment required is £29,500 (+ VAT which
is reclaimable).
Subject to status, the major banks offer Ink World
Franchisees business loan facilities of up to 60% (sometimes more) of the
total requirement, including Working Capital. Typical liquid requirement is
therefore around £13,500.
What Do I Get for My Money?
A substantial budget for shop-fitting is included
in the total investment shown.
Advance rent for your first quarters trading
Your legal costs
£4,500 worth of stock at cost, over £16,000 at
retail prices.
Equipment, stationery and insurance.
Launch publicity including newspaper advertising, a
mail shot to local businesses, leaflet distribution to local households,
launch day promotions and local PR.

Our training assumes
that franchisees come from an unrelated career or business background and
therefore previous experience is certainly not necessary. Enthusiasm and
commitment are obviously the right kind of personal qualities and, as in any
retail business, being a good communicator is essential.
